Twusic + Deezer !

That 2012′ Summer Hit…

On vous l’avais promis, le voilà!     –>    ” Roots Rock Reggae ”

I am biased, you say? Probably. ‘Cause if by “biased” you mean that liking and helping promote this artist for what he stands for, the recognition I believe he should get, the entire musical experience carried out throughout his beats and texts just because I’ve met him and that he’s a good friend to a friend of mine, then you are T.O.T.A.L.L.Y. right, I am biased. …quite happy and shameless to be so, I might add… ;oP  But seriously, whom better to instruct you on a hip-hop artist than the rock-addict /musically difficult chick I am who’s actually met the guy and witnessed he’s the real musical deal and not some phony who simply follows the trend in hopes to get some (lame) practical joke of a so-called fame?!

Uman’s EP “L’aventure, C’est L’Aventure” and the latest “Umanity” are not to be trifled with: the first one has blown my mind (and car speakers), the second has helped liberating both my “Brusselitude” and “Belgitude”, consciously pointing out the discrepancies fermenting at every corner of our beloved city, of our small but inexplicably survivor of an intricate country in ways I won’t begin to enumerate here – in fear of being scolded by the “Boss” (Amaury) for writing a politico-socially opinionated piece…

So, then, Be aware! (no JCVD pun intended): if these EP’s don’t appeal to you at first hearing (you fool!), trust me, you DON’T understand what you aren’t listening to! But, because I’m a nice gal, here’s a clue : you are holding today, yes there, in your hand/iPod/iTunes/WMP/etc, a piece of posterity you’d never had imagined or thought it to be so, thinking back in on it in about 20years… Mind you : these EP’s are to become part of the Belgian Music scene history as a future reference of their style and you’d be the wiser to plug in, let it roll and smell it out! – or at least roll it and smoke it… ^^                     So, my advice for this summer to you out there, fellow Twusic and music addicts, is this :

Play me some Roots, some Rock Steady, some Dub, Rub-A-Dub, some One Drop and chill, relax and enjoy the moment : it’s bound to last…

“To Umanity and beyond!”

A DJ Lab, an international event, good music … What else ?!

Artists! Crowdfunding, what else?

“Hello everybody, hello!”

we’re very very very proud here today, at the lab, to introduce you to our brand new Artists Official Pages !

After countless hours talking with many artists and several labels, it became clear that we wanted and needed to offer a fuller interface than just an usual Twusic account to our friends the artists, in so providing them with a tool aiming at helping them build and interact with their own fan community using their Twitter music feed.

Here at Twusic, our kicker is clear: we use YouTube video clips as a support for the music you display on your radio feed through your tweets. But how could we help artists in improving their Twusic experience and build a stronger relationship between them and you, their fans ?!

But an Artist Page, of course !
Twusic Artists pages are the simplest way to follow your favorite artists and their music, get their latest news, access their musical taste through their music feed and radio … and even interact directly with them ! How about that?! ;-)

Ok, but how does it work ?
To ensure a painless user experience, we’ve made it quite easy ! :

If you’re an artist, just register right now here on Twusic using your offical artist Twitter account and our team will verify manually if you’re the real deal… ;-)
And if you are, then : WELCOME !
From there, start building your own radio station and manage your own Twusic tracks, links, …

If you’re a fan, simply start following your idol like you would any other user and browse our artist database to discover new artists !

…Oh, and just so you know, that’s not all !

As we wanted to go further in helping and supporting our friends the artists and give access to as many of you to the music you love, we’ve decided to partner up with Flattr, one of the most used worldwide micropayment system !
So if you love that track or this artist, FLATTR !! Register and support by donating/spending/giving as much as your budget allows you to !

So there, in short, some big news for us, some great news for artists, some cool ones for you fans and dear Twusos and, as usual, more neat stuff soon to come ! :-)

Hope you’ll like it, ENJOY !!

We’re still kickin’ and breathin’…

Yep, many changes have taken place on Twusic.com lately and things keep on shaking on for us… and for you!

But first, a little flashback about Twusic, the adventure, the people!

As you know, Twusic is a home-made product (no really: “HOME-MADE”! Hot-from-my-desk-stuck-between-the-wall-and-the-couch-in-my-living-room home-made!) developed in Brussels, Belgium by its two co-founders, Alexis and Amaury.

Since then joined by Michele, asta___, MissKatastroff and others, the adventure really began for us in June 2011 with the creation of our company LemonLab, editor for Twusic.com.

Beta Twusic was born on June, 30 during the 2011 spring session of the Founder Institute Brussels which we won (that’s us here, proud.).

2500 beta testers, 200 days of non-stop music and no less than at least 20 media sources talking about Twusic later, we were invited to present our project at the EBE11 in Sevilla.

Strengthened (and straightened) by your feedback on testing the beta version, we were ready to introduce you to Twusic, Release 1, your own personal radio, with which you’re by now familiar…or so we hope… ;)

So what happened between the beta and release1?

Loads!
To begin, you might not have known our beta version but we’ve greatly enhanced our user experience by creating a whole new interface!

And who says “new interface” means many, many, many new features! :

First, the sweet candy “tweet button” now available on your menu bar allows you to share the content you’re viewing in a single click! Easy as pie!

Also, “User Friendly” is even more so your radio station’s middle name !
You can now replace the videos that do not fit your played selection, manage your playlists, add favorites, and a whole lot more! Managing your online music feed has never been easier.

Next, once the Twusic app is released, your radio stream will be continuously fed by your #nowplaying tweets, whichever the source from!

Oh and please don’t hesitate to check out the interactive tour-guide available on the top bar… ;)

Then what?!

Well, after our rewarding experience at the Founder Institute EBE11, we are proud, thrilled and honored to have been selected to compete as finalists in the MIDEMLAB during the 2012 Midem taking place in Cannes this month!!

As one of the select-few musical universal gourous, the Midem, is THE music event taking place every year.

So, new version or new features?
Well, to be honest, a bit of both… but let’s start with the news, shall we?!

- Quizzzzzzz!

Challenge your friends and prove you’re an expert by answering our new quiz’s questions correctly !

- Twusicology

There is something great in there and, we’re sure, this new radio will be a pleaser!
Discover Twusicology, the radio that offers you a compilation of artists and songs pre-selected according to your musical taste!

And about the new version?

No, not another release at this time, promise!, but we’re baking you a nice surprise to be made available soon!…

In short, (many thanks to our friends at Techcrunch France),

discover our new interface and features,
and join us in Cannes in January at MIDEM,
while we continue working hard on improving Twusic to best meet your needs!

See you soon!

En vela con “Back to Mine”

Participaron Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Danny Tenaglia, Groove Armada, Faithless, Everythying But The Girl (impresionante este álbum), Morcheeba, Talvin Singh, M. J. Cole, Orbital, New Order, The Orb, Underworld, Tricky, Audio Bullys, Death in Vegas, Richard X, Lamb, Carl Cox, Pet Shop Boys, Adam Freeland, Roots Manuva, Liam Prodigy, Mercury Rev, Röyksopp, Bugz in the Attic, Guillemots y Krafty Kuts. Mucho y para muchos gustos.

Donny Hathaway – Someday We’ll All Be Free (#6 Everything But The Girl)

Kpt. Michi.Gan/Schneider TM – The Light 3000 (#12 The Orb)

Nina Simone – My Sweet Lord (#16 Death in Vegas – este vídeo es toda una obra maestra)

I Monster – Who Is She (#17 Richard X)

Lunz – Lunz (#20 Pet Shop Boys / Neil Tennant)

Ambulance LTD – Yoga Means Union (#21 Adam Freeland)

Earth, Wind & Fire – Departure (#26 Bugz in the Attic)

Sonny: ¿Desacorde?
Tony: No, acorde no consonante.
Sonny: O sea, vocal.
Tony: Vocal o instrumental.
Sonny: ¿Instrumental profesional?

Sonny: Con.

Duke Ellington, sin ton ni son.

Tony: Otro día hablamos de Ella.
Sonny: ¿…
Tony: Ni se te ocurra.
